About TransHarbor

Wyoming Unincorporated Nonprofit Association (UNA) — no private owners or shareholders. User-owned, democratically-governed platform for trans and nonbinary people.

Infrastructure managed to ISO 27001 security standards. Open source code. Mission-locked forever.

Eligibility

Must be 18+, provide accurate registration info, maintain account security, and comply with applicable laws.

Your Account

Registration: Valid email, unique username (3-20 characters, cannot be changed), secure password

Security: You’re responsible for all account activity. Don’t share credentials. Notify us immediately of unauthorized access at security@transharbor.org

Email Verification: Required for full functionality

Platform Features

Posts: Text posts (10-500 characters), public to all users, expire after 30 days (deleted after 90 days)

Direct Messaging: Private between participants, encrypted at rest, not monitored unless reported

Profiles: Public to other users, editable except username

Blocking: Prevents contact, post visibility, and message exchange

Voting Membership

Automatic qualification: 3+ posts, 60+ days old, posted within last 60 days, no active moderation strikes

Rights: Submit proposals, vote on governance, shape policies

Your Content

You retain ownership. By posting, you grant TransHarbor a license to store, display, and transmit your content as part of the service. License ends when you delete content or account.

Prohibited

  • Harassment, bullying, threats
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Doxxing (sharing personal info without consent)
  • Explicit sexual content
  • Spam, scams, fraud
  • Impersonation
  • Platform abuse or hacking
  • Illegal activity

Enforcement

Violations may result in warnings, content removal, moderation strikes, suspension (1-30 days), or permanent ban.

Appeals: Email moderation@transharbor.org (reviewed within 14 days)

Privacy and Security

Your privacy is a protected core principle. See Privacy Policy.

We never sell your data. Our legal structure prohibits it. Data is encrypted at rest using hardware security modules (YubiHSM). Infrastructure managed to ISO 27001 bank-grade security standards.

Account Deletion

Delete anytime via Settings. Content removed within 30 days, data permanently deleted, backups purged within 90 days.

Disclaimers

Service provided “as is” without warranties. You’re responsible for your interactions with other users. TransHarbor is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, or legal services.

Emergency: Contact local emergency services (911 in US) immediately. Don’t rely on TransHarbor for emergencies.

Limitation of Liability

To maximum extent permitted by law, TransHarbor and its organizers are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of data, service interruptions, or actions of other users. Total liability limited to $100 USD.

Changes to Terms

Updates made through democratic governance process. Major changes require community discussion and voting.

We’ll notify users of material changes via email and in-platform notification. Continued use constitutes acceptance.

Termination

By You: Anytime via Settings > Delete Account

By Us: For violations, illegal activity, 2+ years inactivity, or safety/security risks

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

TransHarbor is hosted in the United States and governed by Wyoming and United States law.

We’re subject to US law enforcement requests. With valid warrants or subpoenas, we must comply. We’ll fight overbroad requests and provide minimum data legally required.

Disputes: Contact → mediation → binding arbitration in Wyoming (except small claims, IP protection, emergency relief)

No Class Actions: Individual disputes only

International Users

By using TransHarbor from outside the US, you consent to data transfer and processing in the United States under US law.

Open Source

All TransHarbor code is open source and publicly auditable. If we fail you, fork it and start over.

Mission Lock

Our trans-centered mission is constitutionally protected in Swiss law through our dual-entity structure. It cannot be changed without supermajority community vote. The platform cannot be sold, acquired, or pivoted to different purposes.
